2 session skill-building workshop with Project Shema
Please verify reCaptcha before submitting the form.
Join us for a 2 session skill-building workshop with Project Shema sponsored by ADL Florida, Temple Beth Am, and Temple Beth Sholom
Session 1: A New Engagement Strategy
Monday, April 21 from 7-9 pm
The Engagement Funnel is Project Shema’s paradigmatic roadmap for effective, empathetic engagement. In this session, we explore how to counter biases and tell stories that nurture empathy for the Jewish community. Participants will learn how to create trust and navigate difficult conversations about Jewish identity and anti-Jewish harm.
Session 2: Funnel of Engagement
Monday, May 12 from 7-9 pm
This session builds on the core content of the previous one and provides ample time for participants to practice and role-play this innovative engagement strategy. Participants will have opportunities to practice their story of self and tell stories that reveal the complexity of the Jewish community and our history. We'll have time for practice and exercises in small and large groups.
Participation in both sessions is required in order to register.
If you are interested in joining 1 session only, please email Caroline or Jeff (emails below) to express interest and they will add you to list should spots become available for a single session.
Per Project Shema, the content of these sessions is intended for a Jewish audience. Project Shema offers other programs for mixed audiences. If you're interested, please email the below contacts to let us know.

About Project Shema
The word shema comes from the Hebrew word “to hear,” and it’s this concept that guides everything we do. Listening with curiosity and compassion is at the center of our relational engagement approach. Our goal is to help others understand Jews’ stories, identities and lived experiences.
Project Shema is a training and support organization focused on addressing contemporary
antisemitism with an emphasis on how anti-Jewish ideas and implicit biases can be carried alongside conversations about Israel and Palestine. We do not offer education or advocacy on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. However, we do help upstanders understand Jewish identity and nurture empathy for Jewish traumas and lived experiences. Built by progressive Jews, our programs focus on depolarizing difficult conversations around anti-Jewish harm to strengthen allyship for and within the Jewish community.
