Code of Ethics and Conduct
All players, coaches, referees and spectators shall conduct themselves in a manner that provides a safe and positive environment for young people to play basketball.
Negative commentary or gesturing toward anyone will not be tolerated, as it is contrary to the spirit of good sportsmanship.
Spectators, while always welcome, shall bear in mind that they are present only to view the game, and must not interrupt or interfere with players or referees during the game.
Players and spectators should accept League officials’ decisions, as they are rendered to the best of their abilities, based on League rules as well as principles of fairness and impartiality.
Coaches are role models for the players in their care. Coaches should teach by example, showing respect for their players, opponents, colleagues and League officials.
Being on a team requires a commitment to be present and prepared at weekly practices and games.
The Temple Beth Am Basketball Committee, under the leadership of the Basketball Commissioners, is directed by the Temple Beth Am Board of Directors to establish all rules of play and conduct. League officials are authorized to enforce such rules.
