Choosing your Date

Dear parents, 

Welcome to the B'nai Mitzvah Experience at Temple Beth Am. 
We are thrilled to partner with you and your child to make sure that they are prepared for this special day! 
Please take a few minutes to fill out this form so we can assign your child their B'nai Mitzvah Date.
Dates are first come first serve. Please fill this form out by December 5, 2024 to get your first choice of dates.
In order to get one of your first choice in dates, you need answer every question.

Choosing the Right Date and Time for you!

We offer 4 different options for B'nai Mitzvahs at TBAM:

  • 10:30 AM Sanctuary (private, may be scheduled as a double with another student)
  • 5:30 PM Sanctuary (private Havdalah, guarenteed solo)
    • *With the Havdalah service, you are required to have a full service party at the Temple Beth Am, and use one of our panel of four caterers. Once you have been assigned a Havdalah B'nai Mitzvah date and time, you will be billed the $1350 room fee one year out.  You can speak with Phylicia about payment if you have any other questions or concerns.
  • 10:30 AM Chapel (with the community)*
    • *Good for smaller gatherings
  • Alternate Weekday 
    • If you are interested in a service day or time that is not listed above, please be in touch with Rabbi Barras
Please note, you must be a member in good standing in order to reserve a date.  Please contact Rita Diaz with any membership questions at 786.364.9434 or rdiaz@tbam.org

Please note that if you do not include the specific service time in your request you will be assigned day time.

Please choose your top 3 B'nai Mitzvah Dates & Times (remember this is for the 2027-2028 school year.  If the year is incorrect, you will be assigned to the closest date of the correct year): 
Please try to avoid the following dates:
  • Christmas & New Years Weekend
  • The Shabbats before, in between, and after Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur
    • September 25, 2027 havdalah
    • October 8, 2027
    • October 16, 2027
    • October 23, 2027
  • Passover
    • April 15, 2028
  • Spring Break
  • End of June, all of July, Early August

Your child must be 13 or within 6 months of their 13th birthday

This does not have to be exact, please just note if you expect to have a large number of family members/guests, or plan to have a smaller simcha.
